Activites

1. To fight cancer socially through civil society:
a) We are organizing cancer awareness camps / free health checkup camps, cancer survivors meet and cancer screening camps for early detection of the disease.
b) We are publishing literature, booklets, pamphlets, audio-visuals on the related topics. c) We are organizing seminars, symposiums, group discussions, workshops, training programs etc. involving the civil society.

 

2. To fight cancer economically by supporting marginalized people:
a) We are providing treatment in minimum cost through our hospital.
b) We are providing monetary aid to the economically challenged patients through ‘Asish’.
c) We are organizing ‘crowd funding’ and other available government funds for the indigent patients.
d) We are providing rehabilitation to the economically challenged patients.

3. To fight cancer scientifically mainly through our hospital:
a) We are updating our hospital facilities, protocols and applying knowledge gathered through new researches.
b) We are organizing conferences, seminars, symposiums, group discussions, workshops, training programs etc. of the scientists, oncology specialists.
c) We are updating ourselves through participating in WHO/UNICEF/UNO programs.

Blood donation camp at BP Poddar Institute.

On April 9,2025 , BP Poddar Institute and Management organized voluntary blood donation camp at their VIP road campus in association with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Cancer Hospital Blood Bank.Students, led by Dr.Prabhakaran and Kakali madam, took ownership  of the event with great enthusiasm  to make the event a grand success.A total of 120 individuals, including students and professors donated blood to support thalassemia and cancer patients of our hospital.We extend our heartful thanks to all participants from BP poddar Institute.

A cancer awareness camp was organized by local panchayat member Smt. Mita De at Baruipur-Madarat panchayat area.Joint BDO ,Panchayat Pradhan and many other guests were present including some local media channels,there were approx. 60 women participants.

IPHACON 2025

WB IPHACON 2025,i.e.Annual State Cconference of Indian Public Health Association (IPHA) West Bengal State Branch and East Zone Public Health Conclave was held at The Stadel,Salt Lake on May 3-4,2025.Dr.Soumen Das (HOD of surgical oncology ,NCRI) was the speaker on Breast Cancer Detection and Treatment.'ASISH' also was present there with its stall.

Neempith camp.

A Cervical, Breast,Lung and  Oral Cancer Awareness Camp was organized by Neempith Handicapped Society at their office at Neempith,South 24 Parganas.About 80 rural women participated to make the camp a grand success.
